This will be my 6th year teaching language arts, but my first year teaching high school! I’m in a new building and feeling anxious about this new challenge in my career. High school is an anxious time for students too, and while teaching the content and standards is incredibly important, I believe building relationships and creating a safe, welcoming space is just as important. The items on this list will help me connect with students, build strong relationships, create effective routines, and cultivate a space where every student feels like they belong. Thank you so much.
