Math - Personal Finance & Statistics
I teach Personal Finance to high school Juniors and Seniors, the majority of whom come from homes living in poverty. It is so important to provide students with essential money-management skills to give them a chance to break the cycles many of their families have been living in for decades. I feel so grateful for the opportunity to provide my students with these skills and the knowledge they need to go on and be responsible young adults, and always do my best to make sure they will be good humans, too. I also teach AP Statistics, and all of my classes benefit greatly from hands-on learning in a safe, clean, welcoming environment. All of the items on this list would go a long way in making my students' experience in room 217 the best it can be.
