I am a first-year school social worker who will be split between two schools and servicing students as young as pre-k and as old as seniors in high school. My role involves doing crisis interventions, risk assessments, regular counseling/check-ins with students, and anything else to support student mental health. My goal is to create a safe and welcoming environment filled with resources, games, fidgets, and the likes where students can come to take a break and talk about their feelings, life stressors, and gain coping skills they need to help them both in the classroom and in all other aspects of their lives.
