Hello my name is Alex Filips and I am a 6th grade teacher in Western NY. I work at a title one school with students and families dealing with difficult circumstances. I work with students who receive free breakfast and lunch and are on weekend meal programs. I do all I can to support my students inside and outside of school to meet their needs but need some extra support fostering a classroom environment with crucial tools, classroom supplies and items that support a warm environment. I love being a 6th grade teacher and want my students to be in a classroom where they feel encouraged, supported and loved. I strive to develop each student’s character through engaging and challenging academic work and want my students to develop life-ready leader skills with the potential to make a difference in the world. I want them to question, explore and create inside my classroom. I would appreciate any support and aid that can be given. Thank you for all that you do!
